Welcome to my blog!

Hey guys! I'm Ellie and I created this blog for my social media marketing class at UGA! I'm a senior studying sport management and marketing, and I am graduating this May! You'll find that most of my blog posts are about food, Relay For Life, sports, and traveling! I hope you enjoy it!

I am not much of a blogger, so I was so worried about what to write for my first post. I started thinking about it, and realized I should write about one of my biggest passions, Relay For Life! Relay is a fundraising campaign for the American Cancer Society and I am the Athletic Recruitment Chair so I help foster the relationship between UGA athletics and Relay. Last week Joni Taylor, the head coach of the UGA Women's basketball team, came to speak at our exec meeting. It was unbelievable! She didn't just do a "stop by and say hey" kind of thing she came and poured her heart out for half an hour. She was so encouraging and inspirational. I mean how many head coaches at Georgia would take time out of their busy schedules to come speak to us? Let alone a head coach who is in the middle of their season? One quote she shared that really stuck with me was "If you are still thinking about what you did yesterday then you have not done enough today." Here is a picture of Coach Taylor speaking at our meeting!
The next night the basketball team played at home against Mississippi State. We all wanted to go support Coach Joni and the team so we had an exec night out to the basketball game! Mississippi State was ranked #10 so they really needed support at the game! The Dawgs took down Mississippi State 47-43 in an impressive performance. Here is a picture of some of us at the game!
After the game we cheered loudly for Coach Taylor getting another win under her belt and talked to her a little bit after the game! She thanked us for coming and told us we had to come to every game now. Here we are with her after the game!
